Covid had us in an unprecedented position and I was put in a position to recover the international percentage of sales from prior to Covid and because it was an unknown situation I wanted some strategic planning support from an industry professional I trusted, to ensure I could achieve and outdo perfection expectations for management.

I was feeling the pressure as the company relies so heavily on sales for its ability to survive, and therefore didn’t feel it was smart to try to do it by myself without professional support and coaching.

I chose to work with Gen after considering who the best person would be, because it required specific expertise across international distribution and arts marketing, and that can be a rare skill set in one person or company.

As a result of working with Gen, I developed, presented and implemented a post covid international marketing and distribution strategy, which in turn recovered our % of international sales back to the company in 18 months.

I implemented a new team workflow with fresh starters to have an effective team dynamic to get the work done. We also covered specific challenges around stakeholder engagement and education on the benefits of tourism marketing and how trade is a vital market to achieve company revenue targets.

There is always value in collaborating with like-minded people especially when they are not within your company.
It’s vital for any successful organisation to have a training and development budget for all employees from senior leaders to entry level roles.

I had a great rapport with Gen, and I could trust her with sharing my challenges and work with my weaknesses to improve them. It was always a judgement free zone.
