Celebrate the Wins

No matter how micro or small, it’s a really important daily or weekly practice to celebrate the wins for a leader and as a team.

Often we’re so focused on what’s next, maybe what didn’t work, that we might not take time to celebrate what actually did work. Or even what we learn from that experience and that is a win itself.

We can easily forget about or overlook celebrating those small micro moments, the milestones, steps and tasks that are a crucial part of momentum and progress. Even if the big goal or end result, still seems a long way off or is an ever-constant which business is.

Please celebrate those little wins.

So what specific little or big wins are you cheering about and celebrating today, this week, this month or this year as it comes to a close?

If they’re private, recognise them, give yourself a high-five and some acknowledgement.

Be mindful of the self-talk, your own or perhaps that of the team. What’s being said…?

Is it reflective, constructive and productive or is there some negativity (with or without intention) that might then taking away from the moment?

Unintentionally there could be a theme of not being good enough, still so much to do, judgement, resentment, envy, guilt or over inflated or underplayed ego.

Is acknowledgement and recognition being given to those that deserve it and those that REALLY deserve it? You know those unsung heroes that do so much, yet never want or get the accolades.

Very often, a big thank you and a statement of “I or we appreciate you so much” can go a very very long way.

And perhaps if you don’t have anyone to share the wins with, share it with me. I’m cheering with you and for you.

Sometimes it’s the littlest things that can make the biggest difference.
