Limping or Limboing

Limping or Limboing? Wrapping up 2021

Limping or Limboing

So it’s a funny time of year, some businesses amping up for the festive season, some industries work through and others begin the wind down where everything stops and everyone takes a break. Some of us are feeling smashed and exhausted after a huge 12 months, others revitalised and refreshed…and some of us, probably not sure what we’re feeling. Just ready for ’22. Can ’21 please be over now! And it almost is.

Lucy asked me yesterday “When can we put the Christmas tree up?” So it’s officially that time of year. Crazy right, it flew by.

So back to the question, are you limping or limboing? How’s your mojo? Do you feel like your limping into the back end of ’21 or are you limboing? That means feeling flexible and ready for whatever the new year holds?

Here are a couple of questions, I’ve been posing on recent coaching calls?

  1. What are 1 or 2 small micro-habits that are really critical for you to finish off the year well?
  2. If there were 1 or 2 ‘Must Completes’, what are they for you, the team or the business?
  3. What have been your key learnings for ’21?
  4. What are 3 conversations key to a successful 2022 that if you had now, would set you up for success?
  5. What lessons do you carry with you into the New Year to do more of, differently or be better at?
  6. What will bring you a micro-shift?

We use a scale system here at The Art of Extraordinary. We’re never shooting for a 10, even an 8 or 9 is likely unlikely. When it comes to leadership, dealing with humans, ourselves and business challenges, we talk about micro-shifts.

So if you feel you’re a 6 out of 10, what might help you feel like a 6.5/10 or maybe even a 7/10. Some people can say straight up, if I was more organised, or could communicate more effectively, be more productive with my meetings, manage my time. Insert whatever if could be for you? Have shorter meetings, plan my day, not be so reactive…. Stay strategic instead of ending up operational, fire-fighting. You’ll know what it is for you.

And maybe a 6 or 7 is generous, you could be feeling more like a 3, 4 or 5?

So what’s going to bring you the micro-shift?

If you already know, make that happen, please now, in these weeks leading up to Christmas.

And if you don’t already know how to make it happen, then join one of our upcoming “Set for Success” group power sessions. My Christmas gift to you. Book in the diary here now.

Let’s make sure you’re limboing through these last weeks of ’21 and ready for a great New Year ahead.
