I feel better equipped to manage my stress at work. I am now more focused and better at setting priorities. I feel overall my skills as a leader have improved.

I learnt a lot about communication and adaptability. Particularly how to find middle ground with people. I learnt a lot about how to deal with challenging behaviours with external stakeholder relationships. I really liked getting to know and better understand local businesses and common people management issues. I really like having the program documentation to refer back to now, and have a clear pathway forward. I also know now, I don’t always have to go forward, sometimes we have to go backward to go forward as a business.

Coming into the program I was a little uncertain about how I would apply it to my role and how in depth it would be. I really found the insight into myself as a leader and where to apply it and how to improve my skills, really amazing. There was a lot more self-insight than I anticipated, that I found extremely valuable. It wasn’t just a dot point list on leadership and how to do things. Through the program, I learnt it is ok to be the sort of leader that aligns with my own integrity and values and apply the tools to suit and fit my leadership style. It’s not a one-size fits all approach, it’s about fine tuning oneself to be a different leader for what the business and team need and want.

Before starting this program I felt very overwhelmed in my business, I felt that I was only working in the business and not actually on the business. Genevieve helped me to break the business down and hone in on areas that I needed to improve on. It was great that Gen would hold me accountable, as this ensured I would actually implement these ideas into action. After every session I walked away with new ideas, better strategies and just feeling confident again.
